With more than 10,000 volunteer hours logged across trails and open spaces in Northern Utah and beyond, Pliking Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization run entirely by volunteers, from the college student picking up trash to the CEO. In one year alone, Pliking Volunteers cleaned over 300 miles of trails, parks and waterways.
“Once you clean up an area, it stays clean a lot longer,” said Cherie Malone, another one of the nonprofit’s directors. “So I think that people just see, well, somebody worked hard on this trail. I’m not going to throw trash down.”
